getting married in the rainWe don’t know about you, but we’re completely water-logged after this rainy week. It feels like we haven’t seen the sun in days! What happened to April showers bring May flowers? In case you haven’t noticed, it’s May…and we see no flowers. Despite our dreary attitudes about the ever-present precipitation, we’re determined to show you how to make the best of it. If rain is headed your way for the big day, here’s a few ways we love to use it to your advantage.

Clear umbrellas

as favors for outdoor weddings! If it rains, these props will make for excellent pictures. If it doesn’t, your guests are left with a super cute gift to take home (because who doesn’t need an extra umbrella?)

Pictures in the rain

are much more exciting than you’d think! Have a big, black umbrella on hand (or your photog may stash one in their kit) for pictures like this! Consider the rain just another way to capture stellar shots!

Or forgo the umbrella entirely

and really embrace the downpour. Yeah, you’ll be wet, but you’ll have some wicked memories and pictures to boot!

A clear top tent

takes more preparation than just a day-of decision, but imagine how gorgeous it would be eating dinner beneath a rain storm (without getting wet, of course!). Not only will a clear top tent allow you to watch the rain fall, it is such a statement piece when it comes to design.

Who doesn’t love (and own) a pair of rain boots?!

Fully commit to the idea of rain by donning a pair of these beauties! They may not be your dream Manolo Blahnik heels, but they are seriously swoon-worthy when paired with frilly knee high socks!

While rain is likely not your first choice of weather for your wedding day, remember this: at the end of the day, rain or shine, you will still be married to the love of your life. If you’ve thought ahead and have a great Plan B (or at least a way to keep people dry), guests are going to have fun, even if it isn’t in the sun! Take it in stride and accept the fact that you cannot control the weather – you can only control your reaction to it! Embrace the rain and we’re certain your day will be just as magical (if not more!) as you were hoping for.
