Evergreen Museum + Library

Photography by Jen Harvey Photography

When people start thinking about wedding venues, museums and libraries aren’t often the first thought that comes to their mind. However, they provide a gorgeous event space that looks stunning in photos!

The Evergreen Museum + Library, part of the Johns Hopkins University Museums, has stunning architecture. It gives you the best of both worlds: romantically elegant grounds with a charming, rustic Carriage House. It’s the perfect blank slate for a wedding — and we can help make it perfect for your special day!

This estate is timeless and tree-lined, featuring a 19th century Gilded Age mansion. The mansion is also surrounded by manicured gardens and the historic Carriage House that has a tented awning, original woodwork, and exposed brick.

George Peabody Library

The George Peabody Library is the 19th-century focused research library of Johns Hopkins University. Again, this probably isn’t your first thought when you think about wedding venues in Baltimore. But it gives you a breathtaking setting for your wedding! This space is adjacent to the historic Mount Vernon Place, which is a well-appointed and photo-friendly public park.

The wedding venue has six tiers of cast-iron columns and ornate railings. These are embellished with gold leaf and encircle the Reading Room! This creates the perfect ambiance that’s enchanting and scholarly.

Plus, if you’re a reader, there are over 300,000 volumes of books! What a perfect backdrop to showcase your personality, right?

Rockfield Manor

This space provides you with several reception room options and a cozy living room with a fireplace and sunroom. There is also a temperature-controlled patio, gardens, and stunning grounds.

Rockfield Manor is an ideal space for your intimate wedding, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or any other small to medium-scale event!

Rosewood Farms

This wedding venue is a bit of a drive from downtown Baltimore, but we just had to include it on our list. Rosewood Farms is a fairly new venue that will still give you some rustic charm.

When you book Rosewood for your wedding, you get the entire property for the day, including two barns, a bridal suite, a groom’s lounge, and all of their outdoor spaces. All of the buildings are climate-controlled.

Oh, and the best part? It’s pet-friendly!

Some of our favorite aspects of Rosewood are the Silo Bar, The Suite, and the fireplace in the Rustic Barn. The fireplace is the perfect backdrop for your sweetheart table! Rosewood looks stunning in any season.

Mt. Washington Mill Dye House

Photography by Aaron Haslinger

Next up on our list of wedding venues in Baltimore is the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. This is just minutes from downtown Baltimore, along the scenic Jones Falls.

The Mt. Washington Mill was built in 1810 and is the earliest surviving cotton textile plant in Maryland. It’s also the third-oldest in the entire U.S. Talk about a historic venue!

This is the perfect space if you’re looking for a rustic, industrial design. There are multi-pane windows, authentic wood beams, exposed brick, and distressed concrete floors.

This is a space that can easily accommodate a large wedding. It can hold 200 to 400 guests, depending on the layout that you choose and the number of buildings that you utilize.

Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum / Ampersea

The Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum is a wedding venue in Baltimore that’s located in historic Fells Point. It truly embodies Baltimore’s industrial elegance! It is one of Baltimore’s oldest waterfront buildings and gives you exquisite brick and woodwork.

There are several unique spaces available for a wedding, both indoor and outdoor! Inside, you can choose to have your event in the Founders Room or the Bearman Gallery. For outdoor spaces, can use the bricked courtyard and Cardin Pier. This will give you stunning views of the harbor — and backlighting from the iconic Domino Sugar sign!

Baltimore Museum of Art

We couldn’t have a list of wedding venues in Baltimore without including the Baltimore Museum of Art! Having your wedding here will give you a one-of-a-kind experience for your guests. It is so vibrant and innovative!

The Baltimore Museum of Art is a major cultural destination, as it is home to an internationally renowned collection of 95,000 artifacts.

You can choose from four event spaces, including:

  • Fox Court: a neoclassical room featuring a coffered ceiling and elegant Ionic columns
  • Antioch Court: a mosaic-filled room surrounding the museum’s atrium, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows
  • The West Lawn: beautifully landscaped gardens
  • The Meyerhoff Auditorium: elegant space including a stage and portable Marley dance floors

Belmont Manor and Historic Park

Photography by Lauren C Photography

Finally, we could not forget one of our favorite venues just south of Baltimore City. Belmont Manor and Historic Park is located just 20 minutes from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.  With each rental, you get use of the mansion, brick tented (with a beautiful white tent liner!) and all of the gardens.

Do you picture your ceremony in front of the lily pond or gorgeous Japenese maple trees? Cocktail hour in a big open space or in a historic mansion? You can have it all here!

BONUS: A Baltimore Wedding Venue We’d Love to Work At

While we’ve worked at so many amazing wedding venues in Baltimore, we’d love to expand upon our list! Here is one wedding venue in the Baltimore area where we would love the chance to plan and design a wedding.

The Winslow at the Parker Metal Building

We would absolutely love the chance to get to design and plan a wedding at The Winslow, which is part of the Parker Metal Building. This unique wedding venue in Baltimore combines the city’s industrial past with modern and historic elements.

The main event space features a second story mezzanine, concrete floors, exposed brick, and steel with a 7-foot built-in bar. The Train Shed offers concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and sight lines to the M&T Bank Stadium!
