If there is ever an opportunity for brides to get creative on their wedding day, it’s with their Something Blue. Something Blue, along with the three (or four) other parts to the rhyme (something old, something new, something borrowed, and sometimes, a sixpence in your shoe), are all just good luck charms, but if you’re wondering, Something Blue represents purity, love, and fidelity. We’ve seen quite a few versions of Something Blue having been in the industry for a while now, but there are some that are just unforgettable!

We love this idea found on bridalguide.com. Have your seamstress sew your wedding date on the under side of your dress in blue thread. Not only will it serve as your Something Blue, it will make for an adorable picture and a beautiful reminder of your big day!

While you’re putting your seamstress to work sewing the date into your dress, you could also have her add a little something extra. We are completely in love with the idea of the bride sewing a piece of her father’s blue shirt in to the front of her dress. Here, the bride has sewn the heart into her dress above where her own heart will be. This could be in remembrance of a father who passed away and isn’t able to walk you down the aisle or as a reminder to good ole dad that you’ll always be his little girl.

It’s becoming more common for brides to wear blue shoes as a tribute to their Something Blue and we think it’s so much fun! But picking out the right pair of blue shoes can be tricky. You still want to look elegant, after all, you are the bride. We are absolutely smitten over these stunners!

If you’re not into having an entirely blue shoe, why not wear a white or ivory pair with blue soles? That fun pop of color is sure to look amazing in photographs!

Looking for something a little more subtle? We are obsessed with these dainty details – a tiny, pale blue heart on your ring finger or a blue charm attached to the zipper of your dress! We also can’t get enough of these gorgeous blue studs that would definitely make a statement on your wedding day. All of these ideas are unique and fun, but won’t have you feeling too blue.
