It’s no secret that engagements are a busy time. You are planning a wedding, on top of your regular life. You might even be shopping for a new house or planning to move across the country! Needless to say, it’s a stressful time — especially during COVID-19.

Many couples are engaged for over a year, especially due to the fact that a lot of couple’s had to postpone their original wedding date. This means that you will have at least one “engagement anniversary!” So, how do you celebrate?

While celebrating isn’t mandatory, it can be fun to do something together to celebrate the occasion. Here are some of our ideas!

How to Celebrate Your Engagement Anniversary

Here are seven ways to celebrate your engagement anniversary together.

Vacation?

One of the best ways to celebrate your engagement anniversary is to go on a vacation! Of course, a lot of people don’t feel comfortable traveling right now, so this may not be an option for you.

But if you do feel comfortable traveling, this is a great way to celebrate! Did you get engaged while on vacation? Go back to that spot for your engagement anniversary to re-live the memories!

Staycation

If you are one of those people who doesn’t feel comfortable traveling right now, then a staycation is the perfect option for you! Find a few things to do in your town throughout the day. This could include local wineries/breweries, visiting a museum or outdoor park, going to the local zoo, and so much more!

For an even safer option, have a virtual vacation! So many tourist attractions are offering local options to make up for the lack of traveler income. Look into national parks, museums, and more! These can be excellent date ideas to do from home as a way to celebrate.

Have a photo shoot

What better way to celebrate than by getting dressed up for a photo shoot together?!

There are many ways that you can do this. You can go all out and hire a professional photographer to get some great shots of you. If you already have your photographer booked for your wedding, reach out to them! This is also the perfect time to get your engagement photos taken if you haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Otherwise, you can simply have a friend take some pictures of you. You could even take advantage of your self-timer! Whatever works best for you.

Have a spa night

If your partner is up to it, have a spa night together! Life is busy, especially while you’re engaged, and it can be easy to skip self-care measures. Your engagement anniversary is the perfect time to catch up on it together!

Get matching robes and slippers, set up a bubble bath, and have some sheet masks. You could even give each other massages!

Make a scrapbook

You and your partner probably have a ton of photos together. Why not put them all together in a scrapbook or photo album?! You can spend the night together going through all of the photos that you want to add.

Movie night

This one is simple, but never fails! Have a movie night!

Choose 1 or 2 of your favorite movies together. Maybe your first date was going to a movie… if that’s the case, we definitely suggest watching that to re-live the memories!

You can even go all-out and set up a projector outside with blankets and pillows.

Have a picnic in the park

Finally, celebrate by having a picnic together in the park! Order takeout from your favorite restaurant. A picnic in the park (or your backyard) is the perfect way to enjoy nature!
