It’s that time of year again – the weather is getting warmer, wedding season is just around the corner, and bridal showers are likely dotting  your calendars every few weekends. If there’s one thing we love almost as much as weddings, it’s showers: a time to celebrate the beautiful bride-to-be (and often with a too-cute-for-words shower theme that we love designing!) Here are a few trends we’re keeping our eye on this year.

Some brides-to-be are foregoing the more traditional meal time showers and spicing things up with brunch! Warm french toast dripping in ooey gooey syrup is sure to surprise your guests. Not to mention, brunch always calls for a to-die-for drink! We are in love with the idea of a do-it-yourself mimosa bar, with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and lemon spirals to sass up the OJ & champ.

Tea Parties

In our opinion, a tea party is the perfect way to keep things classy for an afternoon shower. We’re smitten with the idea a perfectly pink, oh-so-girly affair that is fit for a queen. Think crisp linens, fresh florals, and precious favors for guests to take home. Really step things up a notch by using words like high tea and scones on your menu!

A Charity Shower

While we never blame a bride for wanting to register for her bridal shower (after all, this is the time to stock up your future home with your new hubby-to-be!), we are totally taken with those who choose to have a charity shower. In lieu of gifts, the couple asks that donations be made to a favorite charity or foundation. How thoughtful!

Long gone are the days where the bride-to-be is the only star of the show – grooms are starting to really get in on the action! We’re so excited to see this trend take off in 2016 because we love when a groom feels just as special as his bride. Some couples are having the groom join the shower near the end, while others have him attend the entire thing. We love both ideas, as long as Mr. Right is shown some kind of love!

Big Showers, Little Weddings

Traditionally, all women who are invited to your shower should be invited to your wedding. A growing trend, however, surrounds those who are having destination weddings. Much to our dismay, not all guests can always attend those weddings in the Dominican Republic. Brides don’t want to celebrate without these close loved ones, however, so it’s becoming more common to invite all the women in your life to a bridal shower, even if they cannot celebrate with you afar!
