Faith & Kurt's Elegant Tented Garden Wedding at a Private Maryland Estate
They came to us at Moore & Co. through another planner’s recommendation (we have such a wonderful industry!). From our first conversation, it was clear this June celebration would be unforgettable.
The Vision & Design
Faith’s vision was a stunning tented garden wedding (think Greenhouse!). She wanted something natural yet planned, relaxed yet formal, fun yet organized. It’s exactly the kind of thoughtful balance we love helping couples achieve. The color palette was a sophisticated blend of greens, ivory, and sharp black accents. It created a modern, clean vibe against the lush backdrop of the family property.
Faith wore a stunning strapless satin gown with boning and a drop waist. Kurt kept it elegant in a linen suit, perfect for a Maryland summer evening. The overall vibe was modern and clean, with personal touches woven throughout.
Reception Built with Love and Personal Touches
What made this private estate wedding truly special was how Faith and Kurt (along with their families) went above and beyond for this celebration. In one of the sweetest gestures we’ve seen, the father of the groom had a portion of the land flattened specifically to accommodate the dream garden tent for Faith. The personal touches continued with the decor, as Faith and her now mother-in-law handcrafted the beautiful moss runner centerpieces for the reception tables. Even the bar menu was hand-drawn on a custom linen, another small detail that made the day uniquely theirs.
The floral design captured that natural-yet-intentional aesthetic Faith wanted. Meadow-style ceremony flowers set a romantic garden-party tone, while the reception featured hanging greenery, hydrangeas, calla lilies, ranunculus, anthurium, and moss. The arrangements felt abundant and organic, like they’d been gathered from a gorgeous garden. But every element was carefully chosen.
A Feast That Kept Everyone Dancing
The culinary experience was designed to impress, and it absolutely delivered. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed arancini, tuna avocado tartare, sweet Thai chili meatballs, crab balls, and feta prosciutto crostini with hot honey. For dinner, we set up a brown butter tenderloin carving station alongside Maryland crab cakes, whipped potatoes, angel hair pasta with lemon parmesan, broccolini, and charred Brussels sprouts.
Dessert featured mini chocolate espresso mousse cups and lemon bar bites, but the real party fuel came later: late-night chicken and beef sliders on pretzel rolls with hand-cut fries. When your reception lasts until after 2 AM (which this one absolutely did), you need food that keeps the energy going.
When Mother Nature Becomes a Nightmare
Let’s talk about the challenge that tested everything. This is the moment when having an experienced planning team makes all the difference. Two days before the wedding, a massive storm rolled through, and the tent top couldn’t handle the pooling water until it burst completely! A team had to come down from New York to completely resurface the top of the tent on Saturday morning—the day of the wedding.
The second challenge? Maryland heat in late June. Additional fans were brought in and we added tarps to the clear tent top to manage the temperature. Guest comfort can directly impact how long people stay and how much they enjoy themselves, so weather contingencies are always part of our planning process for outdoor weddings. An Unforgettable Celebration
The most moving moment came just before their first kiss. The wedding party and the couple’s parents gathered around Faith and Kurt, placing their hands on them for a group prayer. It was an incredibly sweet and powerful display of love and support, surrounding the couple with blessings as they began their marriage.
During cocktail hour, a plane flew overhead trailing a banner that read “CONGRATS KURT & FAITH <3 LOVE WINS.” The spontaneous cheering and excitement from guests created one of those unplanned moments that became a highlight of the entire day.
That energy carried through the entire night, with guests dancing and celebrating past 2 AM. When people don’t want to leave, you know you’ve created something truly special.
Being thanked for successfully executing such a large and complex event at home is one of the greatest compliments we can receive. For us at Moore & Co., the real win is handling the chaos behind the scenes so the couple and their families can focus on what matters: celebrating their love story.
