A Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Winter Wedding: Jillian & Tyler
When Jillian and Tyler envisioned their perfect wedding day, they knew exactly what they wanted: minimalist elegance with a stunning French blue palette for their winter wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. At Moore & Co, we love working with couples who trust us to enhance their vision, and this December celebration was everything they dreamed of and more.
The couple met through mutual friends three years before, and after Tyler’s unexpected proposal in July, they set their sights on a December wedding that would showcase their sophisticated style. From the moment we started planning, we knew this would be special. It was a celebration that balanced refined elegance with genuine warmth. It was a true reflection of who they are as people—and we loved planning alongside them!
The Venue: Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was the ideal canvas for Jillian and Tyler’s vision. Its classic architecture and neutral palette allowed their French blue, black, white, and a touch of pink color story to truly shine. Meanwhile, the waterfront Chesapeake location added natural beauty that felt especially magical in December. The venue’s stunning indoor spaces meant that unpredictable December weather was never a concern. This is an important consideration for any Maryland winter wedding.
A Color Palette That Stole the Show
Blue was absolutely non-negotiable for Jillian. Naturally, we couldn’t wait to play with a blue palette in winter versus the standard greens and whites. The rich, sophisticated hue showed up beautifully in the bridesmaids’ velvet dresses (a favorite detail!) with that gorgeous gray undertone. It paired perfectly with the groomsmen’s classic black tuxedos.
The winter timing made this palette even more stunning. Many guests embraced the elegant atmosphere. They arrived in formal attire featuring rich jewel tones like navy, deep blue, plum, and burgundy. These colors perfectly complemented the couple’s chosen palette and fit the elegant winter theme.
Minimalist Yet Abundant Winter Florals
One of our favorite aspects of Jillian and Tyler’s wedding was how they approached their floral design. They wanted “minimalist but not empty or sparingly,” and the result was absolutely perfect. This is exactly the kind of thoughtful balance we love helping couples achieve at Moore & Co.
The winter-styled arrangements featured white roses, anemones, ranunculus, and lisianthus that created lush, romantic displays without feeling overwhelming. Blue delphinium was the perfect addition, tying everything back to that gorgeous French blue theme while adding just the right pop of color. However, the real magic came from the abundant winter greenery: pine, cedar, and evergreens. These elements transformed classic blooms into something intentionally seasonal. This thoughtful balance of lush whites and rich greens created arrangements that felt full and luxurious. Yet, they remained refined and purposeful.
A Menu Worth Celebrating
Chesapeake Bay Beach Club’s catering team created an impressive cocktail hour spread that had guests talking all night. The variety was incredible: tempura shrimp, Nashville hot chicken, crispy ahi tuna tacos, miso chicken, grilled cheese bites, brown sugar cured salmon skewers, and crostini with prosciutto, rosemary mascarpone, and fig.
For dinner, guests enjoyed filet and crab cake with buttered potato and chef’s choice vegetables (a perfect showcase of Maryland cuisine.) Dessert featured Smith Island cakes in three flavors: cookies & cream, red velvet, and lemon, plus an assortment of parfaits.
The Fashion Statement
Jillian looked stunning in her modern white gown, elevated with a faux fur wrap that was both elegant and practical for December—a perfect example of how to embrace the season with style. The choice perfectly aligned with the sophisticated winter theme she and Tyler had envisioned.
The bridal party was picture-perfect—bridesmaids in those velvet French blue dresses with gray undertones, while Tyler and the groomsmen kept things classic in black tuxedos. The combination created a timeless look that photographed beautifully against the winter backdrop.
